Quickly format for Kahoot via Pair Assistant
Overview
1. Steps
- Login to pair.gov.sg using your email (@schools.gov.sg domain or @moe.gov.sg domain)
- Access the Kahoot Quiz Generator using this link - https://go.gov.sg/kahoot-gen-pair-custom-asst
- Indicate the level of students that you are designing the quiz for and input the intended learning objectives

- Highlight the results generated and use Ctrl + C to copy
(Note: It is important that you highlight to copy rather than click on the ‘copy’ button)
- Paste the results into the Kahoot import template - you can find it here: https://go.gov.sg/kahoot-import-template
- Login to kahoot.com and create a new kahoot quiz
- Select ‘Blank Canvas’
- Click on ‘Add question’
- Click on ‘Import spreadsheet’
- Click on ‘Select file’
- Upload the Kahoot import spreadsheet from Step 5
- Remove question 1 (because it is blank) and your quiz is ready!

2. Considerations
1) Time taken:
This workflow is intended for users to create a full kahoot quiz in under 10 minutes. However, as a new user, it is more realistic that you take around 15 to 20 minutes in the beginning while you familiarise with the complete workflow.
2) Quality of questions:
The quality of questions generated are mainly recall-type questions because these questions are the easiest for Pair to generate.
In some cases the questions may turn out to be really good but teachers are encouraged to further prompt the Pair Bot should there be a need for more challenging questions and to check through the questions and answers generated.
3) Quality and Quantity of Learning Outcomes used
- If learning outcomes included are too little/narrow, the generated quiz may contain many repeated questions
- If learning outcomes included are too vague/open-ended, the generated quiz may contain many irrelevant questions that test outside the intended curriculum
To improve this - choose a suitable number of learning outcomes and ensure each learning outcome is outlined clearly. This usually results in a more desirable generated quiz.
