Problem Statement
A well-functioning school goes beyond the classroom. It is easy for teachers to overlook the many administrative processes around the school. However, some of these operations-related processes are very vital to the overall operation of a school and sometimes, they can even hinder a teacher who is preparing lessons, teaching in a classroom, organising events etc.
For example - in the case of a classroom projector malfunction. Is there a way for the teacher to quickly communicate this to the relevant personnel. Maybe you will drop a text or an email to the OM or the General Office. Sometime our maintenance reporting can fall through the cracks - no response the next day, maybe even after a week or even a month. Many teachers would understandably feel frustrated in such situations.
What school teachers often fail to recognise is that the Operations Manager (OM) and their team handle numerous responsibilities beyond maintenance - including school security and logistical needs. Thus, maintenance requests often get addressed later than expected. After all, the OM's role should not be primarily desk-bound.
Maintenance request V2.0 was built using FormSG, Plumber, Tile, Postman and the Telegram extension. This helped to ensure that the various reports are sent straight to the OM team for stakeholders to get notifications on their mobile phone in real-time.
